This golden porridge is a delicious big hug in the morning! Filled with good fats, anti-inflammatory, digestive activating and liver helping spices. Oats are soothing for the gut, help to reduce anxiety and add fibre to your day.
Ingredients- serves 2
1 cup Steele cut rolled oats
2 cups water
1/2 cup roughly chopped mixed nuts (optional)
1 teaspoon dried or freshly grated turmeric
1/4 teaspoon dried/ freshly grated ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
6 dried apricots finely chopped (optional)
Nut milk to serve
Method
1) Add oats, apricots, spices and water to saucepan and cook until oats are soft and water has been absorbed (more water may be needed), then Remove from heat.
2) Add nuts and hemp seeds and stir through
3) Serve with a drizzle of honey and almond milk too desired consistency. Enjoy!
You could swap the nuts for hemp seeds, chia seeds, pepita’s, or other yummy seeds. I like to grate fresh apple and LSA (Linseed, Sunflower and Almond meal) on top of my golden porridge.
